FAMILY-SENIOR MUNICIPAL POLICY
Mayor’s Message
Almost three years ago, the Municipal Council of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes decided to become involved in the process of developing a Family/Senior Policy and Action Plan. We now have the chance to update our policy and our plan thanks to a grant the we have received from La mistère de la famille.
This update of our action plan with serve as a guide book on our route to becoming a senor friendly municipality. It is important to follow our progress throughout the entire implementation process. Evaluating our progress is an important step in establishing an action plan. It will bring light to the next stage and integrate into a process of continuous improvement. The indicators listed in the action plan will be used to measure our progress. We will consult our follow up committee throughout the difference phases of our evaluation. Their imput will help us with steps to follow to ensure our success.
Realizing the recommended activities, includint time lines, is an indication of success. This document will guide us in our efforts and evaluation.
Being a senior friendly municipality allows us to offer more possibilities and to address the challenges of an ageing population. We are providing seniors with opportunities for an active and social life in creating an environment that promotes physical and social independence.
Yours sincerely,
Winston Sunstrum
Mayor, L’Isle-aux-Allumettes
